The Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory shone at Designblok

The twenty-second Designblok has announced the nominations for the Designblok Awards. Traditionally, the best products, concepts and installations were voted for by a jury of industry journalists and Designblok curators. The choice was made through online voting in eleven categories, giving companies, designers, studios and schools the chance to win. An overall Designblok winner will also be chosen across the categories. A wide range of products are represented in the nominations, from furniture, vases and lighting to jewellery and experimental projects. Winners will be announced on Saturday, October 10, 2020.

Traditional manufactory Rudolf Kämpf impressed the Designblok 2020 jury twice. The minimalist SOLO tea and coffee set received two nominations and one first prize.

Rudolf Kämpf Porcelain Factory presented its new SOL drink set, designed by designers Antonín Tomášek and David Síla, at the Designblok exhibition. The minimalist set was handmade using traditional methods from quality Carlsbad porcelain. The design philosophy of the service is based on the combination of small and large components (Small and Large Object), which can be combined with each other according to individual preferences.The timeless decor and the shapes of the teapots, lids, tea strainers and French presses work perfectly as individual pieces or as a complete set. The SOLO beverage set is a proud challenge to the future of the porcelain world.

The presentation of the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory from Loučky near Karlovy Vary at Designblok is in the spirit of the motto "Every craft has its secret". Within the framework of the eponymous installation, the director of the porcelain manufactory, Adam Richtr, together with designers Antonín Tomášek and David Síla, highlights the importance of handmade work in the 21st century and the possibility of combining classical production methods with modern lifestyle. They express their respect for the handmade tradition, craftsmanship and hundreds of years of passed down knowledge and skills, which they pay tribute to with the SOLO multifunctional drink set.
