Porcelain manufactory Rudolf Kämpf introduces new design tea and coffee service SOLO
This week at Designblok we will unveil the new minimalist tea and coffee set SOLO by designers Antonín Tomášek and David Sila for the traditional porcelain manufactory Rudolf Kämpf. This collection was created in collaboration with the traditional crafts platform Netoliko. We will be very happy to have you there!
The SOLO beverage set consists of a variety of small and large components from which unique variations can be combined to make tea or coffee. Hence the name, which is an abbreviation of the words "Small and Large Object" and also captures the individuality of each of the pieces.
You can mix the coffee filter with teapots in two sizes, lids, a tea strainer, a pair of French presses and a cup. From a pure white, minimalist set to a colourful series, from a single piece to a complete set. The minimalist craftsmanship puts an emphasis on details and offers timeless enjoyment for a variety of occasions.
At the same time, the SOLO collection launches the ambitious production direction of the porcelain manufactory Rudolf Kämpf. It is a symbol of a new path and a promise of openness to collaborate with designers on diverse projects on a smaller and larger scale.
INSTALLATION AT DESIGNBLOCK
The presentation of the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain manufactory is entitled "Every craft has its secret". In addition to a proven recipe for quality porcelain, it takes up to twenty pairs of experienced hands to give a piece of themselves and their knowledge to the product. The daily tasks of the workers are made easier by a number of tools such as a curling iron, with which the pouring machine cleans the drops of porcelain after pouring the mass into the mould, the sprues make it easier to handle the moulds and the stands with a refractory rod make it easier for the firer to fire small pieces.
Every craftsman at the Rudolf Kämpf manufactory must take the utmost care with every piece of porcelain. We also present the items necessary for handmade work in our installation on Designblock.
DESIGNERS
Antonín Tomášek, an experienced designer and head of the Ceramics Design Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design of the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, is behind the SOLO porcelain coffee and tea set collection. He invited his student David Sila, who is the author of the French press, to the project.
The aim of the designers was to create a collection that would pay homage to traditional handmade porcelain and the craftsmanship of the skilled workers at the Rudolf Kämpf manufactory, while satisfying the needs of contemporary dining. The result is a timeless, multifunctional and elegant set suitable for everyday use and festive occasions.
PORCELÁNOVÁ MANUFAKTURA RUDOLF KÄMPF
Since December 1911, the porcelain manufactory in Loučky, West Bohemia, has been named Rudolf Kämpf. To this day, it prides itself on traditional production of hard porcelain, which stands out for its strength, high craftsmanship and durability. It is one of the last factories in the Czech Republic where porcelain is still handmade, often developing limited series or unique specimens. Exclusive porcelain sets, vases and other accessories are offered under the Rudolf Kämpf brand, while the Leander fresh series focuses on contemporary design.
